KamuAI Installation Guide for Windows

Ready to get started? Installing KamuAI on your Windows computer is quick and easy. Just follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Download KamuAI

First, click the link below to download the setup file for KamuAI.

Your browser will save a file, usually named KamuAI-win-x64.exe, to your computer's "Downloads" folder.

Step 2: Install the App

Now, you just need to run the installer.

  1. Go to your "Downloads" folder and find the file you just downloaded.
  2. Double-click on the KamuAI-win-x64.exe file to start the installation.
  3. A setup window will open to guide you. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

Step 3: Launch KamuAI

Once the installation is complete, you're ready to go.

A new KamuAI shortcut will be placed on your desktop. Double-click this icon to open the app. When you do, you have a choice to make.

  • To use EU-Hosted Models: Sign in with your DesktopTools.ai account. This gives you access to powerful cloud-based models and lets you manage your pay-as-you-go credits.

  • To use only Local Models: You do not need an account or need to sign in. If you have Ollama running, KamuAI will detect your local models, and you can start chatting with them right away, completely for free.

The choice is yours! You can always sign in later if you decide to try the hosted models.
